Pottstown senior Seth Ecker closed out his stellar career with a third place finish at 119 pounds (Class AA). In AAA, Boyertown sophomore Alex Pellicciotti placed 7th at 130 pounds, while Owen J. Roberts junior Nick Fuschino placed 8th at 145 pounds.
Seven other wrestlers competed at the PIAA Wrestling Championships but did not medal. In AA, Pottstown senior Fred Holly went 1-2. In AAA, going 1-2 during the tournament were Spring-Ford junior Ryan Kemmerer and Upper Perk junior Jared Bennett. Going 0-2 in AAA were Boyertown junior Tim Feroe, Upper Perk sophomore Nick Edmunson, Owen J. Roberts freshman Scott Syrek, and Spring-Ford senior Alex Kanakis.
Congratulations to all PAC-10 wrestlers on another great season! Next season will be here before you know it…with a slightly different look to the league as Methacton joins the PAC-10.
PIAA Championships 'Guess the Placers' Prediction Contests
There were 156 entries for the AA state contest and 330 entries for the AAA state contest. When it was all said and done, this year’s contest winners are tvswarm (won AA by 154 points) and brindle145 (won AAA by 35 points). Click the links below for the complete standings. No entry was able to correctly predict the complete finish (1-8) for any weight class, but LA Lakers did get 1st thru 7th in AAA 160, falling a single point from a perfect weight class. Thanks to everyone for playing and we hope to have the contests again next year!

Pottstown falls short in D1-AA final; Upper Perk fails to advance too
The District One Duals have been dominated by PAC-10 teams over the past few seasons with Upper Perkiomen claiming the AAA title for several years and St. Pius X and Pottstown taking the AA crown as well. This season was a different story. Pottstown advanced to the AA title match (with a semifinal win over Phoenixville) but fell to Octorara by a score of 39-31. In AAA, Upper Perk was seeded 13th out of 16 teams but got an upset in the first round over 4th seeded Springfield Delco. The Indians lost a close 35-34 match to Downingtown West to fall to the consolation bracket. They rebounded with a 32-27 win over Hatboro Horsham falling to Quakertown 40-24.
